NotChristian Sermon Series :: Sundays September 12—October
17
Christianity has an image problem. The wider culture views
Christians as sheltered, hypocritical, judgmental, anti-homosexual, too
political and pushing their beliefs on others; essentially as NOT
Christian. As a local church community, we are taking an honest look at
each of these critiques and exploring the dissonance between Christians'
actions and Jesus' teachings in order to recapture, learn and mature in a more
authentic and truer faith.
Life Group Launch, Sundays September 12 & 19
As fall approaches, so does the beginning of our new season
of Life Groups. Join us after the Sunday morning gathering for an opportunity
to see what the groups are all about, meet Life Group Leaders, find a couple to
try out, and enjoy a tasty lunch! Everyone is invited to check out what’s
coming up while trying different dishes at Appetizer Sunday (on the 12th).
On Sunday September 19th, the Chili Challenge is back!
For
this second week of the Life Group Launch there will be many varieties of chili
to taste, but only one will be declared the winner. Make sure you test them all
and cast your vote while checking out the Life Groups that meet throughout the
week. If you are planning to bring chili for the challenge, please sign up on
your connection sheet.

Are you wondering how faith might play a greater role in
your life or could be more directly relevant to the important issues in your
life? Are you curious about Jesus and how he might fit into a faith journey?
Are you definitely interested in a life of faith but consider yourself newer to
it? Are you interested in the idea of prayer or communication with God, but
unsure of how to pursue it? If you can answer “yes” to any of those questions,
Seek is for you! Join us here at Hillside Church for a 10-week course about
faith and Jesus where we will eat dinner together, watch a short video and
participate in a group discussion. Sign up on your connection sheet, call the
church office or email holly@hillsidealive.com to let us know if you’re
planning to come or have questions.

Pre-Service Prayer: Every Sunday at 10 am
The pre-service prayer time is an integral part of ministry
at Hillside Church, especially focusing on Sunday mornings. We gather to pray
for the Sunday service, our church community and the city. You won’t want to
miss this opportunity to hear what God has in store for us and those around us!
All are welcome and all leaders are strongly encouraged to attend.

REACH: Relationship Evangelism And Community Helps
Join us on Wednesday evenings as we serve with the love of
Jesus, look with the eyes of Jesus to see what the Father is doing, build
relationships with the heart of Jesus, touch with the power of Jesus. If you
